The most common urban pest is the feral pigeon. They tend to roost in buildings, on window ledges, under bridges and around other man made structures. Over the years people have tried various methods of removing pigeons either by trapping or shooting and whilst this is effective in the short term, they always return to roost.

Since we have installed the ANTI BIRD NET in trouble sites such as bakeries, under bridges and on loading docks we have eased the problem if not eradicated it from these areas. Hence, we believe that the polyethylene netting we supply is the only long term solution. Pigeons are not a migratory bird. Their natural instinct is to stay in the area where they were born and as pigeon hatchings occur three or four times per year this results in a growing number of birds in one area.

Damage caused by pigeons occurs not only through blocked drains and gutters but also the damage from their faeces can run into the millions of dollars. Studies have shown that not only physical damage is caused by these birds but they are a very high health risk. Some diseases known to be associated with pigeons are salmonella, encephallitis, meningitis and ricketts to name a few.
